I used to watch the PTL Club every morning before school. My apsolute favorite is when you would sing about:
If god didn't make those lemons, we wouldn't have lemonade". I was so sad to hear you were fighting cancer. You were diagnosed about the same time my godfather/uncle was. How ironic that you both died on the same day, of the same thing. I cry for a cure, I learned from your lives, and I will miss you both terribly

Dear Tammy,
The gay community considered you a great friend because of your unconditional love and support for us. I remember your support for AIDS victims from the earliest days of the epidemic. At a time when many still thought it was contagious, you were there to hug and support us. I hope you have found peace and know that you were loved by thousands upon thousands of people who never met you but somehow knew you by your actions.

Your spirit and love will be missed,
Rick and Christopher.

NOW THAT YOU ARE GONE I STILL WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE THIS MESSAGE. YOU DID ALL YOU HAD TO DO ON THIS EARTH AND YOU DID IT WITH SUCH PRIDE AND JOY. I WILL ALWAY'S REMEMBER YOU OF HOW PRETTY YOU WERE AND HOW YOU HAD SUCH A SWEET MELLOW VOICE.THE LORD TOOK YOU BECAUSE HE SAID YOU HAVE DONE ALL THAT HE WANTED YOU TO DO ON EARTH AND THAT IT WAS DONE WELL. WHEN I FIRST HEARD YOU HADE GONE HOME I JUST CRIED, AND I REMEMBER MY SISTER ASKING ME WHY I WAS CRYING AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOU PERSONALLY, AND I SAID TO HER " IT IS NOT WHETHER OR NOT IF I KNOW HER BUT THAT SHE HAS GIVEN ME SOMTHING THAT I NEEDED IN MY LIFE THT I DID NOT HAVE AND I AM CRYING TO SHOW THANKS FOR WHAT SHE HAS DONE FOR ME AND SHE NOT EVEN KNOW IT." I WAS ALSO GLAD THAT YOUR BATTLE WAS OVER AND NOW YOU CAN HAVE PEACE AND TRANQUILITY!!!!!!!!!

You knew about the Rose of Sharon and the Lillies in the valley. I love you! I can't wait to meet you in heaven. You are truly a 'real' Christian, who led a 'real' life in Christ. You will be dearly missed here on Earth. Say 'hello' to my mother for me. She loves you too. Love always to a loving...always sharing woman.

Tammy was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day for me as a child. I rember watching her on tv and just being drawn in by her smile. She kept that smile untill the final hour.

I have always had the most tremendous respect for her and her ministry. She spread the word of joy and love to EVERYONE. She was a great advocate for those who were less fortunate as well as the gay community who loved and admired her so much.

Several years ago I recieved an autographed photo from her by mail. It hangs in my office. No matter what the level of advirsity she was faced with she never lost faith or hope. She is a true sence of inspiration for me and I will always remember her. God bless you Tammy Faye! We will all miss you!

I am in awe at your strength right until the end. I had just watched you on Larry King and at that moment I knew that you knew. Your message to all of us was truly touching. Never have I seen such a woman with tremendous faith as you have. I love you and you will be missed each and everyday. I know I will hear you singing again. Until then, may you finally be pain free and know that we are celebrating your life here on Earth. All my love and your biggest follower/fan, Elisabeth

Dear Tammy Faye and Family,

It was 1984, I was six years old, and my father had abandoned my mother, sister and I. The event ripped through our home like a tornado devastating our family life and its routines. While the situation was difficult for my sister and I, it was especially heart wrenching for my mother.

During the next few years my sister and I clung to mom, often sleeping in the same bed with her for fear she too may abandon us. Each and every morning, I remember being wakened by the sound of PTL that came from the small black and white television atop my fatherís dresser. The show aired early and I always remained in bed, eyes closed but fully awake. At the time I didnít understand much about the premise behind the show but somehow knew that it played an important role in my motherís life. You see, it was the mornings that were the toughest for mom. Alone, young, with two small children, she cried and often threw up all the while pulling herself together for the day ahead.

As a gay man, I sincerely appreciate the outstretched hand Tammy extended toward the gay community. However, in retrospective, I am most grateful for her positioning and role on PTL televised broadcasts throughout the mid to late 1980s. While I often find myself discouraged and disheartened by fundamentalism, I know the support my mother received from PTL programming occurred at a critical moment in her life. Furthermore, this support enabled her to raise two successful children alone, thus impacting my own life.

For this, I thank you Tammy Faye and my deepest condolences go out to your family. One often never knows the full extent of their impact on society.

I and my family love you Tammy Faye and are looking forward to spending eternity with you in heaven. We are saved because we saw PTL on TV and went to Heritage USA. We were LifeTime Members and have always gotten to stay there all 4 yrs in camp or in the hotel. We cried so hard when we couldn't come anymore. God forgive those people. With Love.

You have inspired me to stay strong through all of life. I love god too, hope to see you in heaven on my first day.
